Here's the simple version: Lyumjev (insulin lispro-aabc) is a fast-acting mealtime insulin that already lowers your blood sugar quickly. Berberine has shown in some studies that it can nudge blood sugar down too. Put them together and those effects can stack, which means your sugar could drop lower than you expect. That's called hypoglycemia, and with a rapid insulin like this it can come on fast (shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, or a racing heart).

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it's theoretical, based on how each one works rather than direct studies of the two combined. It doesn't mean you can't use both. It just means watch your numbers closely. Please loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding berberine so they can guide any insulin adjustments. Don't change your insulin on your own.
