Acetaminophen, Chlorpheniramine, Dextromethorphan Hydrobromide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2D6 (CYP2D6) SUBSTRATES — the group Boswellia Serrata interacts with.
In vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata gum resin inhibits CYP2D6 enzymes.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Of the three ingredients in this combo product, the one to watch with boswellia is the dextromethorphan (the cough suppressant). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2D6 to clear dextromethorphan out of your system. In lab dish studies, boswellic acids appear to slow that same enzyme down. If that holds true in real life, dextromethorphan could build up a bit and lead to more of its usual effects, like drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling foggy. The chlorpheniramine (an antihistamine) can already make you sleepy, so the two together might add up.
To be fair, this is theoretical, based only on test-tube data, not real patients, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you notice extra grogginess, check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

Here's the simple version: This combo medicine (the pain reliever acetaminophen, the antihistamine chlorpheniramine, and the cough suppressant dextromethorphan) is partly handled by a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. In test-tube studies, Boswellia serrata seems to slow that enzyme down a bit. In theory, that could let some of these ingredients linger a little longer, which might mean more drowsiness, dizziness, or a dry mouth than you'd usually expect.
I want to be honest about how soft this evidence is. It comes only from lab dishes, not from people, so we really don't know if it matters in real life. Still, if you notice extra sleepiness or grogginess when taking both, mention it to your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES

In vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata gum resin inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes. Other in vitro research shows that Boswellia serrata extract inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes at most concentrations, although it may modestly induce enzyme activity at low concentrations.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
This combination cold and flu product (Coricidin HBP) contains dextromethorphan, the cough suppressant, which your liver partly clears using an enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab studies, boswellia can block that enzyme, which could in theory let dextromethorphan build up a bit more than usual. If that happened, you might feel more of its side effects, like drowsiness, dizziness, or feeling foggy, which can stack on top of the sleepiness from the chlorpheniramine (an antihistamine) already in this product.
That said, this is only a theoretical concern based on test-tube research, not real-world reports, so I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, if you plan to use both regularly, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor first.
