Levobupivacaine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Bulbine Natalensis interacts with.

Theoretically, Bulbine natalensis stem might reduce the levels and clinical effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Bulbine natalensis stem extract slightly induces CYP1A2 mRNA expression and enzyme activity. Theoretically, this may increase the metabolism of CYP1A2 substrates; however, this has not been studied in humans.

Here's the short version: Levobupivacaine (Chirocaine) is a local anesthetic, the kind your doctor uses to numb an area or block pain during a procedure. Part of how your body clears it runs through a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. In lab dish testing, Bulbine natalensis seemed to slightly speed up that enzyme, which in theory could make your body break the anesthetic down a little faster and shorten or weaken the numbing effect.

I want to be honest with you though: this is theoretical. It comes only from test-tube work, not from people, and Levobupivacaine is almost always given by a clinician in a controlled setting. The more practical concern is that Bulbine itself may stress the liver and kidneys. Please mention any supplement you take to your anesthesiologist or pharmacist beforehand.

Here's the thing to know about Levobupivacaine (Chirocaine): it's a local anesthetic, the kind a doctor injects to numb an area for surgery, labor, or pain control. It isn't something you swallow daily at home, and it's usually given as a one-time or short-term dose under medical supervision. Your liver clears it partly through an enzyme called CYP3A4.

The concern on file is that Bulbine natalensis might speed up that enzyme, which in theory could clear this drug a bit faster and slightly weaken the numbing effect. But honestly, this comes only from lab and animal data, not real people, and the medical team controls and monitors the dose anyway. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. Still, tell your anesthesiologist or pharmacist about any supplement you take.
