Bulbine Natalensis + Triamcinolone
Triamcinolone brand names: Aristocort, Kenacort, Adcortyl Intra-articular / Intradermal, Kenalog Intra-articular / Intramuscular, Adcortyl in Orabase, and others.
Bulbine Natalensis has a moderate interaction with Triamcinolone. Theoretically, Bulbine natalensis stem might increase the levels and clinical effects of p-glycoprotein substrates.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Triamcinolone
Triamcinolone falls under P-GLYCOPROTEIN SUBSTRATES — the group Bulbine Natalensis interacts with.
In vitro research shows that Bulbine natalensis stem extract induces p-glycoprotein mRNA expression; however, effects on transporter expression were not evaluated.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist for triamcinolone, a corticosteroid that helps with swelling, allergies, asthma, and similar conditions. Your body moves triamcinolone around partly using a tiny pump called p-glycoprotein. Lab research suggests Bulbine natalensis may turn up the activity of that pump, which could push more of the drug out and lower how much stays in your system. In plain terms, the steroid might work a little less well for you.
I want to be honest though: this is very weak, theoretical evidence from test-tube studies only, with no human data. For most people it probably won't make a noticeable difference. Since Bulbine also raises liver and kidney concerns, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them rather than changing anything on your own.

About Bulbine Natalensis
What is Bulbine Natalensis?
- Boosting testosterone
- Improving libido
- Muscle building and athletic performance
- General male vitality
Bulbine natalensis is a South African plant marketed mainly as a testosterone-boosting and libido supplement, but the human evidence is essentially absent and most claims come from animal studies. Animal research has also raised concerns about possible liver and kidney harm at higher doses, so caution is warranted. Talk to your pharmacist or doctor before trying it.
About Triamcinolone
What Is Triamcinolone Used For?
Brand names: Aristocort, Kenacort, Adcortyl Intra-articular / Intradermal, Kenalog Intra-articular / Intramuscular, Adcortyl in Orabase, Triesence
Triamcinolone is available in many forms — injections, creams, ointments, nasal sprays, dental pastes, and eye injections — each approved for specific uses. Injectable forms given into muscle are used when oral steroids aren't an option, covering severe allergies (like asthma flares, severe skin reactions, drug reactions, and serum sickness), serious skin diseases, certain endocrine (hormonal) disorders, and more.
Injections given directly into a joint (intra-articular) or soft tissue help with conditions like rheumatoid arthritis, gout flares, bursitis, and tendon inflammation. Injections into skin lesions (intralesional) treat conditions such as keloids, alopecia areata, and psoriatic plaques. Triesence (an ophthalmic injection) is specifically indicated for eye conditions like uveitis and temporal arteritis, and for visualization during eye surgery. Topical creams, ointments, lotions, and sprays relieve itching and inflammation from corticosteroid-responsive skin conditions. Dental paste forms (Oralone, Kourzeq) treat painful mouth sores from injury. Nasal sprays temporarily relieve hay fever and upper respiratory allergy symptoms such as runny nose, sneezing, and congestion.
