Mavacamten falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES — the group Bulbine Natalensis interacts with.

Theoretically, Bulbine natalensis stem might reduce the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Bulbine natalensis stem extract induces CYP3A4 mRNA expression and enzyme activity. Theoretically, this may increase the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates, but this has not been studied in humans.

Here's the concern with pairing Camzyos (mavacamten) and Bulbine natalensis. Your body clears mavacamten using a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In lab (test tube) studies, this plant appears to speed up that enzyme. If that held true in people, your body could break down mavacamten faster, leaving less of it in your system and possibly weakening how well it controls your obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy symptoms.

I want to be honest though: this is only theoretical and based on lab work, not human studies, so we don't truly know if it matters in real life. Still, mavacamten is a drug that needs careful, exact dosing and monitoring. Please don't change anything on your own. Just talk with your cardiologist or pharmacist before adding this supplement.
