Theoretically, Bulbine natalensis stem might reduce the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that Bulbine natalensis stem extract induces CYP3A4 mRNA expression and enzyme activity. Theoretically, this may increase the metabolism of CYP3A4 substrates, but this has not been studied in humans.

Here's the gist for your migraine medicine. Your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down Ubrelvy (ubrogepant). In lab dishes, Bulbine natalensis seemed to rev up that enzyme. If the same thing happened in people, your body might clear ubrogepant a little faster, meaning it could work less well and your migraine, with its throbbing pain, nausea, or light sensitivity, might not ease up the way you'd expect.

I want to be honest though: this is only a test-tube finding, not something proven in humans, so it may not amount to much. Still, given the limited safety data on this supplement, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

Here's the short version for Ubrelvy (ubrogepant) and Bulbine natalensis. Ubrogepant relies on a transporter called P-glycoprotein, which acts like a little pump that helps move the drug around and out of your body. The lab note on file says Bulbine might nudge that pump system, which in theory could shift how much ubrogepant reaches your bloodstream.
