Here's the concern with pairing bupleurum and Kesimpta (ofatumumab). Ofatumumab works by calming down part of your immune system (it targets certain B-cells) to reduce MS relapses. Bupleurum, on the other hand, may do the opposite in lab and animal studies, giving the immune system a little nudge to be more active. If that happens in people, it could theoretically work against what your MS medication is trying to accomplish, potentially making it less effective at preventing flare-ups.

I want to be honest that this is theoretical and only based on test-tube and animal research, so we don't know if it truly matters in real life. Still, because MS treatment is important to keep steady, I'd check with your neurologist or pharmacist before adding bupleurum.

Kesimpta is used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) in adults. This includes clinically isolated syndrome (a first MS episode), relapsing-remitting MS (the most common form, with flares followed by recovery periods), and active secondary progressive MS (when the disease slowly worsens but still has active flares).

It is designed to reduce relapses and slow disease activity by targeting certain immune cells believed to drive MS damage.
