Cyclosporine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INHIBITORS — the group Cannabinol (cbn) interacts with.

Theoretically, CYP3A4 inhibitors might increase the levels and clinical effects of cannabinol.
In vitro research shows that CYP3A4 enzymes are involved in the 8-hydroxylation of cannabinol. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for this pair. Your body uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 to break down CBN, and cyclosporine can slow that enzyme down. In theory, that means CBN might not clear as fast and could build up a bit, leaving you feeling more of CBN's effects, like extra drowsiness or grogginess. Notice the direction here: the concern is more CBN in your system, not a change in how your cyclosporine works.

I want to be honest about how thin this evidence is. It comes from lab studies only, and it has not been reported in real people. Still, cyclosporine is a finicky transplant medicine, and CBN products vary a lot in quality, so please loop in your pharmacist or transplant team before combining them.

Cyclosporine is prescribed to help prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted kidney, liver, or heart. It is often used alongside other immunosuppressive medicines as part of a full transplant care plan.

It is also used for adults with severe, active rheumatoid arthritis that hasn't responded well enough to methotrexate, and for adults with severe plaque psoriasis who haven't had success with other standard treatments.
