Naproxen falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Cannabinol (cbn) interacts with.

Theoretically, cannabinol might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.
In vitro research shows that cannabinol potently inhibits CYP2C9 enzymes. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the basic idea: your liver uses an enzyme called CYP2C9 to clear naproxen out of your system. Lab studies (done in test tubes, not in people) suggest CBN can slow that enzyme down. If that were to happen in real life, naproxen could hang around longer and build up a bit, which might mean stronger effects and a higher chance of typical naproxen side effects like stomach upset, heartburn, an upset gut, or even stomach bleeding with longer use.

The honest part: this is only a theoretical concern based on lab data, and it hasn't actually been reported in people. Naproxen isn't a prodrug, so more of it in your blood simply means more drug effect. Still, since CBN products vary so much, it's worth running this combo past your pharmacist or doctor first.

About Naproxen

What Is Naproxen Used For?

Brand names: Naprosyn, Naprelan, Anaprox, Anaprox DS, Naproxyn, Navalbine, Naproxen, Naprosyn EC, Napro-Na, Aleve, Arthroxen, Synflex, EC-Naprosyn

Naproxen tablets, naproxen sodium tablets, and naproxen oral suspension are used to relieve the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, ankylosing spondylitis, and polyarticular juvenile idiopathic arthritis. They are also used for tendonitis, bursitis, and acute gout, and for managing pain and primary dysmenorrhea (menstrual cramps).

Naproxen Sodium Controlled-Release Tablets are indicated for the same conditions plus the relief of mild to moderate pain. Several over-the-counter naproxen sodium products are indicated for the temporary relief of minor aches and pains from headache, backache, muscular aches, toothache, menstrual cramps, minor arthritis pain, and the common cold, and to temporarily reduce fever.
