Warfarin Sodium falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Cannabinol (cbn) interacts with.

Theoretically, cannabinol might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.
In vitro research shows that cannabinol potently inhibits CYP2C9 enzymes. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist with warfarin: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2C9 to clear it out. Lab studies suggest CBN can block that enzyme. If that happened in real life, warfarin could build up and thin your blood more than intended, which raises the risk of bruising, nosebleeds, blood in your urine or stool, or harder-to-stop bleeding.

The honest caveat is that this is only based on test-tube research, and it has never actually been reported in a person. Still, warfarin is a drug where even small shifts matter, and your INR is the number that tracks it. Please don't start CBN without first talking to your pharmacist or doctor, who may want closer INR checks if you do.

What Is Warfarin Used For?

Brand names: Coumadin, Panwarfin, Sofarin

Warfarin sodium tablets and Jantoven tablets are both used to prevent and treat venous thrombosis (blood clots in the veins) and pulmonary embolism (a clot in the lungs). They are also used to prevent clot-related complications in people with atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm) or who have had a heart valve replaced.

In people who have had a heart attack, warfarin is used to reduce the risk of death, another heart attack, stroke, or other clotting events. It does not dissolve an existing clot, but it helps prevent the clot from growing and stops new dangerous clots from forming.
