Glyburide falls under CYTOCHROME P450 2C9 (CYP2C9) SUBSTRATES — the group Cannabinol (cbn) interacts with.

Theoretically, cannabinol might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP2C9 substrates.
In vitro research shows that cannabinol potently inhibits CYP2C9 enzymes. So far, this interaction has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist: your body relies on a liver enzyme called CYP2C9 to break down and clear glyburide. Lab studies suggest CBN can block that enzyme. If that happens in real life, glyburide could hang around longer and pile up, which would make it work harder than expected.

For glyburide, the main worry from too much effect is low blood sugar (hypoglycemia), meaning shakiness, sweating, dizziness, confusion, or feeling weak. That said, this is only a theoretical concern so far. It's been seen in test-tube research, not in actual people, so the real-world risk is unclear. Still, since blood sugar control matters, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing CBN with glyburide, and keep an eye on your sugar readings.

What Is Glyburide Used For?

Brand names: Diabeta, Micronase, Glynase, Glycron, Micronized, Glynase PresTab, Albert Glyburide

Glyburide tablets are used alongside diet and exercise to help control blood sugar in adults with type 2 diabetes. It is not for type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis (a serious complication where the body produces dangerous levels of acids called ketones).

Glyburide may be used alone or combined with metformin when metformin alone is not enough. It can also be used to help transition patients who are moving from insulin or other diabetes pills to a new regimen, under a doctor's guidance.
