Here's some reassuring news if you take Molindone (Moban) for schizophrenia. The studies we have suggest cannabis doesn't seem to change the blood levels or the actual effect of antipsychotic medicines like this one. In other words, cannabis isn't expected to make your Molindone stronger or weaker, so this is rated as a minor and unlikely interaction.

That said, there's a catch worth thinking about. Cannabis can cloud your thinking, mood, and motivation, and those are the very things Molindone is trying to steady. So even without a chemical clash, mixing the two could muddy how well your treatment seems to be working, or add to drowsiness. Before using cannabis with Molindone, please check in with your doctor or pharmacist.

Molindone Hydrochloride Tablets are approved for the management of schizophrenia. Its effectiveness was shown in clinical studies involving both newly hospitalized patients and those with chronic, acutely ill schizophrenia.

Molindone Hydrochloride Tablets are not approved for dementia-related psychosis in elderly patients.
