Here's the gist: ciprofloxacin (Cipro) can act as a mild brake on a liver enzyme called CYP3A4, and your body uses that same enzyme to help break down THC, the active 'high' compound in cannabis. When the enzyme is slowed, THC may hang around a bit longer and build up. In plain terms, your usual amount of cannabis could hit harder, so you might feel more drowsy, dizzy, foggy, or anxious, with a faster heart rate.

I want to be honest about the strength of this one: it's theoretical, based on how these compounds are processed rather than real-world reports, so it may not amount to much for many people. Still, go easy and don't drive while you feel it. Please run it by your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.

Ciprofloxacin belongs to a class of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones. It's prescribed to treat bacterial infections in many parts of the body — including the urinary tract, skin, lungs, bones, joints, and digestive system. It's also used to protect against or treat anthrax and plague after exposure.

Because ciprofloxacin carries real risks, it's reserved for milder conditions like sinus infections, simple bladder infections, and flare-ups of chronic bronchitis only when there are no safer alternatives available.
