Animal research suggests that caprylic acid might have positive inotropic effects, resulting in reduced arterial pressure and vascular resistance and increased cardiac output.

Benzthiazide (Exna) is a thiazide-type water pill that lowers blood pressure by helping your body get rid of extra salt and fluid. The concern here is simple: caprylic acid, in concentrated supplement form, might also nudge your blood pressure down a bit. Stack that on top of Benzthiazide and the two could add up, leaving you with lower pressure than intended.

If that happens, you might feel dizzy, lightheaded, or woozy when you stand up. I want to be honest, though: this is a theoretical worry based mostly on animal studies, not strong human proof. Food amounts of coconut oil are very unlikely to matter. Before starting a concentrated caprylic acid supplement, just check with your pharmacist or doctor.
