Troxyca ER pairs oxycodone, a strong opioid painkiller, with naltrexone (which is only released if the capsule is tampered with). The oxycodone part already calms your nervous system, which is why it can make you drowsy, foggy, slow your breathing, and lower your blood pressure. Catnip is thought to have its own mild sedative, calming effect, so taking the two together could add up and leave you more sleepy, dizzy, or sluggish than the medication alone.

To be honest, this concern rests on weak, mostly anecdotal and animal evidence, so a cup of catnip tea may do nothing noticeable. Still, with a powerful opioid on board, it is worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before adding catnip, and never adjust your medication on your own.
