CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Acetaminophen, Butalbital, Caffeine
Acetaminophen, Butalbital, Caffeine falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Cauliflower interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the piece that actually matters for your headache pill: of the three ingredients, it's the caffeine that gets handled by the CYP1A2 enzyme. Eating a lot of cruciferous vegetables like cauliflower can gently speed that enzyme up (studies suggest roughly a 14 to 27 percent bump). In plain terms, your body may clear caffeine a little faster, so the small caffeine boost in this medicine could feel slightly weaker. The acetaminophen and butalbital parts aren't really affected this way.
Honestly, this is a mild, theoretical effect, and normal food amounts of cauliflower are very unlikely to change how well your medicine relieves a tension headache. You don't need to avoid this healthy veggie. If you ever feel your medication isn't working like it used to, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor before making any changes.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Acetaminophen, Butalbital, Caffeine page
“Alcohol is the interaction I would flag first for anyone taking acetaminophen, butalbital, and caffeine (Esgic, Fiogesic, and others). Drinking raises the risk of liver injury from the acetaminophen component, and 38 of the 252 supplement ingredients on file carry that same liver concern.”

About Cauliflower
What is Cauliflower?
- General nutrition and a low-carb vegetable
- Source of vitamin C and fiber
- Antioxidant support
- Digestive and gut health
- Part of a heart-healthy diet
Cauliflower is a nutritious cruciferous vegetable that provides vitamin C, fiber, and plant compounds called glucosinolates. As a food it is healthy and safe for most people, but there is no strong proof that cauliflower supplements treat or prevent any specific disease. Enjoy it as part of a balanced diet rather than relying on pills.
