Cauliflower + Drospirenone, Ethinyl Estradiol
Drospirenone, Ethinyl Estradiol brand names: Yasmin, Gianvi, Angeliq.
Cauliflower has a moderate interaction with Drospirenone, Ethinyl Estradiol. Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that eating cruciferous vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower, daikon radish sprouts, and cabbage, can increase cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) activity by 14% to 27%.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES
Why this applies to Drospirenone, Ethinyl Estradiol
Drospirenone, Ethinyl Estradiol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Cauliflower interacts with.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the honest picture for your birth control pill (Yasmin, Gianvi, and similar): the concern on file is that cruciferous veggies like cauliflower may nudge up an enzyme called CYP1A2, which could speed up how fast certain drugs are cleared. In theory, faster clearance means a weaker effect. But the estrogen and progestin in your pill are mostly handled by a different pathway (CYP3A4), not CYP1A2, so cauliflower is very unlikely to make your contraception less reliable.
On top of that, this is weak, theoretical evidence, and normal food amounts of cauliflower are not a worry. Keep enjoying it as part of a healthy diet. If you ever take concentrated cauliflower or broccoli supplements, just mention it to your pharmacist or doctor to be safe.
