Relugolix, Estradiol, Norethindrone Acetate falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Cauliflower interacts with.

Preliminary clinical evidence suggests that eating cruciferous vegetables, including broccoli, cauliflower, daikon radish sprouts, and cabbage, can increase cytochrome P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) activity by 14% to 27%. Theoretically, cauliflower might increase the clearance and decrease the effects of drugs metabolized by CYP1A2. Some drugs metabolized by CYP1A2 include clozapine (Clozaril), cyclobenzaprine (Flexeril), fluvoxamine (Luvox), haloperidol (Haldol), imipramine (Tofranil), mexiletine (Mexitil), olanzapine (Zyprexa), pentazocine (Talwin), propranolol (Inderal), tacrine (Cognex), theophylline, zileuton (Zyflo), zolmitriptan (Zomig), and others.

Here's the practical scoop on Myfembree (which combines relugolix, estradiol, and norethindrone) and cauliflower. Cruciferous veggies like cauliflower can gently speed up a liver enzyme called CYP1A2. Estradiol, the estrogen part of this pill, is partly broken down by that enzyme, so in theory faster clearance could slightly lower estrogen levels.

Honestly, though, the evidence here is weak and theoretical, and the effect is small. The most likely real-world result, if anything, would be a bit more breakthrough bleeding or hot flashes. Normal food-amounts of cauliflower on your plate are very unlikely to throw off your treatment. I wouldn't avoid this healthy vegetable, but if you notice new symptoms, just check in with your pharmacist or doctor.

What Is Relugolix, Estradiol, and Norethindrone Used For?

Brand name: Myfembree

Myfembree is approved for two conditions in premenopausal women: managing heavy menstrual bleeding caused by uterine fibroids (non-cancerous growths in the uterus), and managing moderate to severe pain caused by endometriosis (a condition where tissue similar to the uterine lining grows outside the uterus).

Treatment with Myfembree should not exceed 24 months because of the risk of ongoing bone loss that may not fully reverse after stopping the medication.
