Here's the simple version: cod liver oil, thanks to its omega-3 fatty acids, can gently nudge your blood pressure down on its own. Since propranolol is also working to lower your blood pressure and slow your heart rate, putting the two together may add up a little. This isn't about propranolol building up in your system, it's just two things pulling in the same direction.

For most people the effect is mild, and the evidence here is fairly weak and partly theoretical. Still, watch for signs your pressure dipped too low, like dizziness, lightheadedness, feeling faint when you stand up, or unusual tiredness. If you notice that after adding cod liver oil, check in with your pharmacist or doctor before changing anything.

What Is Propranolol (Cardiovascular) Used For?

Brand names: Inderal LA, Inderal, Angilol, Syprol, Inderal Injection, Half-Inderal LA, Bedranol SR, Half Beta Prograne, Beta Prograne, Lopranol LA, Slo-Pro, InnoPran XL

This intravenous (IV) form of propranolol is used in hospital or clinical settings to treat dangerous heart rhythm problems. It is generally reserved for life-threatening arrhythmias (abnormal heart rhythms) or those that occur during anesthesia.

Specific conditions it treats include fast heart rates coming from the upper chambers of the heart (supraventricular tachycardia), certain arrhythmias caused by digitalis toxicity, dangerous ventricular rhythms that haven't responded to other treatments, and fast heart rates caused by excess adrenaline-like substances during surgery.
