Ethinyl Estradiol, Norgestrel falls under CONTRACEPTIVE DRUGS — the group Copper interacts with.

Theoretically, taking copper with contraceptive drugs might increase the levels and toxic effects of copper.
A meta-analysis of clinical studies suggests that chronic use of oral contraceptives increases serum copper levels by a mean of 57 mcg/dL. In most people, this resulted in levels above the normal reference range for copper.

Here's the thing to know about your birth control pill (Ovral, Lo/Ovral, and similar brands that combine ethinyl estradiol with norgestrel): the estrogen in it tends to nudge your blood copper levels upward on its own. Studies show that long-term use of the pill can raise serum copper, sometimes a bit above the normal range. So if you also take a copper supplement, you could in theory stack a little more copper on top of that.

The good news is this is rated as a minor, theoretical concern. For most people it doesn't cause symptoms, and the copper you get from food isn't the issue. It only really matters if you're taking concentrated copper pills without a diagnosed deficiency. If that's you, just check with your pharmacist or doctor before continuing.
