Coriander + Lomefloxacin
Lomefloxacin brand name: Maxaquin.
Coriander has a moderate interaction with Lomefloxacin. Theoretically, coriander might increase the risk of photosensitivity when taken with photosensitizing drugs.

Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS
Why this applies to Lomefloxacin
Lomefloxacin falls under PHOTOSENSITIZING DRUGS — the group Coriander interacts with.
Evidence from in vitro research suggests that coriandrin, a constituent of coriander, has photosensitizing effects.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: Lomefloxacin (Maxaquin) already tends to make your skin more sensitive to sunlight. It's one of the better-known fluoroquinolone antibiotics for causing sunburn-type reactions, even after fairly short sun exposure. Coriander contains a compound called coriandrin that, at least in lab studies, also seems to react with light. So the worry is that pairing the two could add up and make your skin even quicker to burn or break out in a rash.
To be honest, this is a theoretical concern based only on test-tube data, and the coriander you sprinkle on tacos is very unlikely to matter. Concentrated extracts or essential oils are more of a question mark. While you're on this antibiotic, just be smart about sun: cover up, use sunscreen, and check with your pharmacist if you're using strong coriander supplements.

About Coriander
What is Coriander?
- Digestive upset and gas
- Appetite stimulation
- Mild antimicrobial (topical)
- Diarrhea and IBS symptoms
- General flavoring and traditional remedy
Coriander (also called cilantro) is a common cooking herb and spice that has long been used in traditional medicine for digestive complaints.
