Here's the thing to know about pairing these two. European mandrake contains tropane alkaloids (like atropine and scopolamine) that slow down how fast your gut moves things along. In theory, when your digestion slows, a medicine like brompheniramine can sit in your system longer and get absorbed more fully, which could nudge its levels up a bit.

Brompheniramine is an older antihistamine that already causes drowsiness, dry mouth, blurry vision, and constipation. Mandrake causes those very same effects, so stacking them could really pile on, leaving you very sleepy, foggy, and dried out. Honestly, my bigger worry is that mandrake is genuinely toxic and we never recommend taking it. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything like this.
