European Mandrake + Cabotegravir Sodium

ORAL DRUGS
Why this applies to Cabotegravir Sodium
Cabotegravir Sodium falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group European Mandrake interacts with.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
First things first: I really don't want you taking European mandrake at all. It's a genuinely toxic plant, and this isn't a case where a little is fine. The concern with your oral cabotegravir (Vocabria) is pretty indirect. Mandrake's tropane alkaloids (like atropine and scopolamine) slow down how fast your gut moves things along. When food and pills sit in your system longer, your body can sometimes absorb more of a drug than expected.
For cabotegravir, that theoretically means a bit more could get into your bloodstream, which could nudge up side effects like headache, nausea, or tiredness. To be honest, this is based on how these chemicals work on paper, not on real-world reports. Cabotegravir is active as-is, so it's not a prodrug. Since keeping HIV medicine steady really matters, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before mixing anything new.
