Dr. Brian Staiger explains PharmD, Clinical Pharmacist

First things first: European mandrake is genuinely toxic, and I'd urge you to steer clear of it in any form. But here's the theoretical concern if it were combined with your carbidopa/levodopa. Mandrake's tropane alkaloids slow down how fast things move through your gut. Since levodopa is absorbed from the gut, a slower-moving digestive system could let more of it soak in, which could raise the amount reaching your bloodstream.

In practice, that might mean stronger effects or more side effects, things like nausea, dizziness, low blood pressure when standing, or extra involuntary movements (dyskinesia). I'll be honest, this is a theoretical concern based on how these chemicals work, not hard proof. Still, given mandrake's real dangers, please don't use it, and check with your pharmacist or doctor about anything you're taking.
