European Mandrake + Gefitinib

ORAL DRUGS
Why this applies to Gefitinib
Gefitinib falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group European Mandrake interacts with.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the short version: European mandrake can slow down how fast your gut moves things along. When your gut slows, a pill like gefitinib can sit in your system longer and you may absorb more of it than usual. Gefitinib is an active drug (not a prodrug), so more absorption tends to mean a stronger effect and a higher chance of its typical side effects, like diarrhea, nausea, skin rash, dry skin, or changes in liver labs.
I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical, based on how mandrake works rather than real-world cases. But the bigger issue is mandrake itself, which is genuinely poisonous and not safe to take. Please don't use it, and talk with your oncologist or pharmacist before adding anything new alongside your cancer treatment.
