European Mandrake + Rimegepant
Rimegepant brand name: Nurtec ODT.
European Mandrake has a moderate interaction with Rimegepant. Theoretically, concurrent use might increase absorption of some drugs because of inhibited gastrointestinal (GI) motility caused by European mandrake.

ORAL DRUGS
Why this applies to Rimegepant
Rimegepant falls under ORAL DRUGS — the group European Mandrake interacts with.
Interaction has not been documented in well-controlled studies, however, the interaction has been demonstrated in some small human studies or in controlled animal studies in conjunction with multiple case reports..
Here's the idea behind this pairing. European mandrake contains tropane alkaloids (atropine-like chemicals) that slow down how fast your gut moves things along. When your digestive tract slows, a pill like Nurtec ODT (rimegepant) can sit longer and potentially be absorbed a bit more than usual. Rimegepant is not a prodrug, so more absorption would simply mean a stronger dose effect, and possibly more of its typical side effects like nausea or stomach upset.
I want to be honest with you though: this concern is theoretical, based on how these chemicals work rather than real cases. The much bigger issue is that mandrake itself is genuinely toxic and unsafe to consume in any form. Please don't take it, and check with your pharmacist or doctor about anything you're combining with rimegepant.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Rimegepant page
“Rimegepant (Nurtec ODT), the dissolving migraine tablet, calls for real care alongside supplements, and three entries deserve your attention before anything else. Grapefruit can block the CYP3A4 enzyme that clears rimegepant, raising its blood levels and the chance of side effects.”

About European Mandrake
What is European Mandrake?
- Insomnia (traditional)
- Pain relief (historical)
- Anxiety or depression (folk use)
- Gout and aches (traditional)
- Sedation or anesthesia (historical)
European mandrake is a highly toxic plant from the nightshade family that was used in ancient and medieval times as a sedative and pain reliever. It contains powerful poisons that can cause serious harm or death, and there is no proof it safely treats any condition. We strongly recommend you do not consume mandrake in any form.
