First things first: I really don't want you taking European mandrake at all. It's a genuinely toxic plant, and there's no safe, proven reason to use it. Setting that aside, here's the idea behind this pairing. Mandrake's tropane alkaloids (atropine-like chemicals) can slow down how fast your gut moves. When your stomach and intestines empty more slowly, a medication like Roxithromycin, an antibiotic you swallow, may sit longer and get absorbed a bit more than usual.

In theory, that could mean slightly higher roxithromycin levels and a greater chance of side effects like nausea, stomach upset, or diarrhea. I'll be honest though, this is based on pharmacology reasoning, not solid studies. The bigger worry by far is mandrake's own toxicity. Please talk with your pharmacist or doctor before combining anything like this.
