Asciminib falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INHIBITORS — the group Evodia interacts with.

Theoretically, CYP3A4 inhibitors might increase the levels and clinical effects of evodia.
Animal research shows that concomitant administration of ketoconazole, a known CYP3A4 inhibitor, with the alkaloid constituents of evodia significantly increases the area under the curve (AUC), maximum concentration (Cmax), and half-life of these constituents.

Here's something worth knowing if you take Scemblix (asciminib) for your CML. The interaction on file actually runs the other way from what people usually worry about. Asciminib can mildly block an enzyme called CYP3A4, and Evodia's active compounds (like evodiamine) are partly broken down by that same enzyme. So in theory, asciminib could slow how your body clears Evodia, letting Evodia levels build up rather than affecting your leukemia medication.

Honestly, this is based only on animal and lab studies, not real patients, so it's a theoretical concern and not a reason to panic. Still, since herbal products are unpredictable and your treatment is important, I'd skip Evodia unless your oncologist or pharmacist says it's fine.

What Is Asciminib Used For?

Brand name: Scemblix

Scemblix (asciminib) is used to treat adult patients with Philadelphia chromosome-positive chronic myeloid leukemia in chronic phase (Ph+ CML-CP) — a type of blood cancer driven by an abnormal protein called BCR-ABL1. It covers three groups: people newly diagnosed with Ph+ CML-CP, people who have already been treated for Ph+ CML-CP, and people whose cancer carries a specific mutation called T315I that makes it harder to treat.

The use in newly diagnosed Ph+ CML-CP was approved under accelerated approval based on early response data. Continued approval for that specific use may depend on results from confirmatory trials confirming long-term clinical benefit.
