Theoretically, evodia might have an additive effect with drugs that prolong the QT interval, potentially increasing the risk of ventricular arrhythmias.
Evodia has demonstrated dose-dependent activity as a proarrhythmic agent in animal and in vitro studies. Evodia infusion in animals extends the action duration potential and induces prolongation of the QT interval and Torsade de pointes.

Here's the concern with pairing Evodia and chlorpromazine. Chlorpromazine is one of those older antipsychotics that can stretch out the heart's electrical reset time, something doctors call QT prolongation. In animal and test-tube studies, Evodia has shown the same kind of effect. Put them together and you could, in theory, add to that risk, which in rare cases can lead to a dangerous heart rhythm.

Now, I want to keep this in perspective. This is a theoretical worry based only on lab and animal research, not on real people taking both. Still, because chlorpromazine already carries this risk on its own, I'd play it safe and check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding Evodia, especially if you have any heart history.

What Is Chlorpromazine Used For?

Brand names: Thorazine, Thorazine Spansules

Chlorpromazine is used to manage psychotic disorders and treat schizophrenia. It also controls nausea and vomiting, relieves restlessness and apprehension before surgery, and controls the manic phase of manic-depressive illness. Other uses include relief of intractable hiccups, treatment of acute intermittent porphyria, and use as an adjunct in tetanus treatment.

In children ages 1 to 12, it is used for severe behavioral problems marked by explosive or combative behavior, and for short-term treatment of hyperactive children with conduct disorders. The oral forms are also approved for the management of manifestations of psychotic disorders broadly, in addition to the uses shared with the injection form.
