Theoretically, taking evodia with antiplatelet or anticoagulant drugs might increase the risk of bruising and bleeding.
In vitro and animal studies show that rutaecarpine, a constituent of evodia, inhibits platelet aggregation.

Here's the simple version. Lepirudin (Refludan) is a powerful injectable blood thinner, given in the hospital to stop clots from forming. Evodia contains a compound called rutaecarpine, and in lab dishes and animal studies it seems to make platelets (the tiny cells that help your blood clot) stick together less easily. Stack that on top of a strong anticoagulant like lepirudin, and in theory you could tip toward easier bleeding.

What might that look like? More bruising, nosebleeds, bleeding gums, or bleeding that's harder to stop. To be fair, this is theoretical right now, and lepirudin is used in closely monitored hospital settings anyway. Still, since lepirudin is potent, mention any supplement, including evodia, to your care team so they can watch you safely.
