Here's the honest picture with Spinraza (nusinersen) and Evodia. The interaction on file flags a possible bleeding concern, and that fits because Spinraza is given as a spinal injection (into the fluid around the spinal cord). Anything that thins the blood or slows clotting could, in theory, raise the chance of bruising or bleeding around that injection site.

The evidence here is weak, coming only from test tube and animal studies showing a constituent called rutaecarpine may reduce platelet clumping. So this is more theoretical than proven. Still, because the procedure involves a needle near the spine, I'd play it safe. Please tell your care team you're considering Evodia before your next dose so they can weigh in.

What Is Nusinersen Injection Used For?

Brand name: Spinraza

Spinraza (nusinersen) is used to treat spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) — a genetic disease that causes progressive muscle weakness by reducing the body's ability to make a protein called SMN (survival motor neuron). Spinraza is approved for pediatric and adult patients with SMA.

Spinraza is given by intrathecal injection — directly into the fluid surrounding the spinal cord — so the medicine can reach the central nervous system where it's needed most.
