These two interact in 2 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 2 Interactions?
Evodia interacts with whole categories of medication. Ombitasvir, Paritaprevir Ritonavir falls into 2 of those categories, so it can interact with Evodia in 2 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Moderate).
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INHIBITORS
1 of 2Why this applies to Ombitasvir, Paritaprevir Ritonavir
Ombitasvir, Paritaprevir Ritonavir falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INHIBITORS — the group Evodia interacts with.
Animal research shows that concomitant administration of ketoconazole, a known CYP3A4 inhibitor, with the alkaloid constituents of evodia significantly increases the area under the curve (AUC), maximum concentration (Cmax), and half-life of these constituents.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the thing about this hepatitis C combo, especially the ritonavir part: ritonavir is a powerful blocker of a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. That's actually on purpose, since it boosts the paritaprevir levels and helps the treatment work better. But that same enzyme appears to help break down the active compounds in evodia.
So if you take evodia alongside this medication, the ritonavir could slow the clearance of evodia's compounds, letting them build up in your body. In plain terms, you might get more of evodia's effects (and side effects) than you bargained for. I'll be honest, this is based only on animal and lab research, so it's theoretical and not proven in people. Still, since you're treating something as important as hepatitis C, I'd run any supplement past your pharmacist or doctor first.

CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES
2 of 2Ombitasvir, Paritaprevir Ritonavir also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.
In vitro research shows that evodia extract inhibits hepatic CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist with Technivie (ombitasvir, paritaprevir, and ritonavir). Parts of this combo, especially paritaprevir, are cleared by a liver enzyme called CYP3A4. In test tube studies, evodia appears to slow that same enzyme down. If that held true in people, your body might clear the medicine a little more slowly, letting levels creep up. That could mean more potential for side effects like nausea, tiredness, itching, or trouble sleeping.
I want to be honest about the strength of this, though. This is only seen in lab research, not in actual patients, so it's theoretical. Since you're treating hepatitis C and your liver is already the focus, I'd still loop in your pharmacist or doctor before adding evodia rather than guessing.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Ombitasvir, Paritaprevir Ritonavir page
“Technivie (ombitasvir, paritaprevir, and ritonavir) treats hepatitis C, and because a cure depends on holding steady drug levels for the whole course, this list warrants genuine care. Most of the 154 ingredients on file touch the CYP3A4 enzyme pathway, meaning they can push the drug's blood levels up or down.”

About Ombitasvir, Paritaprevir, and Ritonavir
What Is Ombitasvir, Paritaprevir, and Ritonavir Used For?
Brand name: Technivie
-
The combination of ombitasvir, paritaprevir, and ritonavir is usually used in combination with ribavirin (Copegus, Rebetol), but sometimes it is used alone to treat a certain type of chronic (long-term) hepatitis C infection (swelling of the liver caused by a virus). Ombitasvir is a hepatitis C virus (HCV) NS5A inhibitor. It works by stopping the virus that causes hepatitis C from spreading inside the body. Paritaprevir is a protease inhibitor. It works by decreasing the amount of HCV in the body. Ritonavir is a protease inhibitor. It helps to increase the amount of paritaprevir in the body so that the medication will have a greater effect. It is not known if ombitasvir, paritaprevir, or ritonavir prevent the spread of hepatitis C to other people.
