Evodia has demonstrated dose-dependent activity as a proarrhythmic agent in animal and in vitro studies. Evodia infusion in animals extends the action duration potential and induces prolongation of the QT interval and Torsade de pointes.

Here's the thing to know about pairing evodia with tamoxifen: this isn't about evodia changing how much tamoxifen your body absorbs or breaks down. Instead, both can affect your heart's electrical rhythm in a way doctors call QT prolongation. Tamoxifen carries a known, if uncommon, risk of nudging that rhythm, and lab and animal studies suggest evodia may do the same. Stacked together, the theoretical worry is a higher chance of an irregular heartbeat.

I want to be honest about the strength here: this concern comes only from test tube and animal research, not from people, so it's far from proven. Still, since tamoxifen is a long-term medicine that matters a great deal, I'd run any evodia product past your pharmacist or doctor before starting it.

Tamoxifen Citrate also falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) SUBSTRATES.

Theoretically, evodia might increase the levels and clinical effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro research shows that evodia extract inhibits hepatic CYP3A4. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's something worth knowing about pairing Evodia with tamoxifen. Tamoxifen relies on liver enzymes to do its job, and one of those is CYP3A4. In lab dish studies, Evodia compounds appear to slow CYP3A4 down. If that happened in the body, the parent tamoxifen could build up a bit, which might mean more of its usual effects like hot flashes, nausea, leg cramps, or fluid changes.

The important part: this is theoretical. It has only been seen in test tubes, never reported in actual people, so we really don't know if it matters at supplement doses. Tamoxifen is a serious cancer medicine, though, so I wouldn't add Evodia on your own. Please run it by your oncologist or pharmacist first.

Human evidence for these uses is very limited, and it is mostly studied in laboratory and animal research. About Tamoxifen

What Is Tamoxifen Used For?

Brand names: Nolvadex, Soltamox

Tamoxifen is used to treat estrogen receptor-positive metastatic breast cancer in both women and men, and as follow-up (adjuvant) therapy after surgery for early-stage breast cancer in women. It also reduces the occurrence of cancer in the opposite breast when used as adjuvant therapy.

In women with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS — an early, non-invasive breast change) following surgery and radiation, tamoxifen lowers the risk of developing invasive breast cancer. It is also approved to reduce the risk of breast cancer in women who are at high risk but have not yet been diagnosed. Both Tamoxifen Citrate tablets and Soltamox oral solution share these indications.
