Fenugreek may also have an additive effect on blood pressure-lowering medications. Studies on animals have shown that fenugreek seed can decrease both systolic and diastolic blood pressure by up to 22% when combined with metoprolol. Therefore, it is essential to monitor your blood pressure regularly if you are taking fenugreek and metoprolol together or any other antihypertensive drugs.

Here's the simple version: fenugreek may have a mild blood pressure lowering effect of its own. When you stack that on top of moexipril (Univasc), which already relaxes your blood vessels to bring pressure down, the two can add together and push your numbers a little lower than expected.

If that happens, you might notice signs of pressure dipping too far, like feeling lightheaded, dizzy, or unusually tired, especially when you stand up quickly. To be fair, this is a minor interaction and the evidence is thin (mostly animal studies, and not even with this exact drug). A pinch of fenugreek in cooking is unlikely to matter; concentrated supplements are the bigger question. If you do use both, just check your blood pressure now and then, and chat with your pharmacist or doctor before starting a supplement.

What Is Moexipril Used For?

Brand name: Univasc

Moexipril Hydrochloride tablets are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). They can be used on their own or combined with thiazide diuretics (water pills) when blood pressure is not controlled by moexipril alone.

It's worth knowing that ACE inhibitors, including moexipril, tend to lower blood pressure less effectively in Black patients than in non-Black patients, and Black patients also have a higher risk of a serious swelling reaction called angioedema with ACE inhibitors.
