Nusinersen Sodium falls under ANTICOAGULANT/ANTIPLATELET DRUGS — the group Fenugreek interacts with.

Theoretically, fenugreek might have additive effects when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Some of the constituents in fenugreek have antiplatelet effects in animal and in vitro research. However, common fenugreek products might not contain sufficient concentrations of these constituents for clinical effects. A clinical study in patients with coronary artery disease or diabetes shows that taking fenugreek seed powder 2.5 grams twice daily for 3 months does not affect platelet aggregation, fibrinolytic activity, or fibrinogen levels .

Here's the honest scoop on this one. The interaction on file pairs fenugreek with blood thinners, because a few of fenugreek's compounds have shown mild antiplatelet (blood-thinning) effects in lab and animal studies. The worry would be a small bit of extra bleeding risk. But this concern really applies to true anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs, not to Spinraza (nusinersen).

Nusinersen doesn't actually work as a blood thinner. It's an injection given into the spinal fluid to boost a protein that helps muscles and nerves in spinal muscular atrophy. So fenugreek isn't going to make it stronger or weaker. On top of that, real-world studies found fenugreek seed powder didn't measurably change clotting. I'd still mention any supplements to your care team, but I wouldn't lose sleep over this combo.

Brand name: Spinraza

Spinraza (nusinersen) is used to treat spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) — a genetic disease that causes progressive muscle weakness by reducing the body's ability to make a protein called SMN (survival motor neuron). Spinraza is approved for pediatric and adult patients with SMA.

Spinraza is given by intrathecal injection — directly into the fluid surrounding the spinal cord — so the medicine can reach the central nervous system where it's needed most.
