Here's the thinking on this pair. Cladribine (Mavenclad) works for MS by quieting down an overactive immune system. Fulvic acid, on the other hand, has shown the opposite effect in some animal and lab studies, where it seemed to stimulate immune activity. So in theory, taking fulvic acid could push against what cladribine is trying to do and make your treatment less effective.

I want to be honest about how soft this is. This is a theoretical concern based on pharmacology and animal data, not real human studies, so we don't truly know if it matters in people. Still, MS therapy is too important to gamble with. Before adding fulvic acid, please run it by your neurologist or pharmacist first.

What Is Cladribine Used For?

Brand names: Leustatin, Mavenclad

Cladribine tablets (brand name Mavenclad) are used to treat relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS) in adults — specifically relapsing-remitting MS and active secondary progressive MS. Because of its significant safety profile, it is generally reserved for patients who haven't responded well to, or can't tolerate, other MS medicines. It is not recommended for clinically isolated syndrome (CIS), a first episode that may or may not lead to MS.

Cladribine injection (given intravenously) is a separate product used to treat active hairy cell leukemia — a rare blood cancer — in patients who have clinically significant anemia, low white blood cell counts, low platelets, or disease-related symptoms.
