Theoretically, taking fulvic acid may decrease the effectiveness of anticoagulant and antiplatelet drugs.
In vitro evidence shows that fulvic acid, formed from the oxidation and polymerization of protocatechuic acid, can shorten prothrombin time in human plasma, increasing the risk of clot formation.

Here's the concern with pairing fulvic acid and dabigatran (Pradaxa). Dabigatran is a blood thinner that works by blocking thrombin, a key step in clot formation. The worry on file is that fulvic acid might push your blood in the opposite direction, making it clot a little easier. In lab dish testing, fulvic acid shortened how long blood took to clot. If that happened in a real person, it could theoretically chip away at how well dabigatran protects you from a stroke or a new clot.

I want to be honest though: this is theoretical and based only on test-tube work, not on people taking both together. Still, since dabigatran is preventing serious clots, I wouldn't gamble. Please check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding fulvic acid, and don't change your dabigatran on your own.

About Dabigatran

What Is Dabigatran Used For?

Brand names: Pradaxa, Pradax

Dabigatran etexilate capsules are approved for adults to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism (blood clots traveling through the body) in non-valvular atrial fibrillation (an irregular heart rhythm not caused by a heart valve problem). Capsules are also used to treat deep vein thrombosis (DVT — a blood clot in a deep vein, usually the leg) and pulmonary embolism (PE — a clot in the lungs), to prevent those clots from coming back, and to prevent DVT and PE in adults who have had hip replacement surgery.

For children, the capsule form is approved for treating VTE (venous thromboembolism — blood clots in veins) and reducing recurrence in patients aged 8 to under 18. Pradaxa Oral Pellets are approved specifically for children aged 3 months to under 12 years for the same treatment and recurrence-prevention purposes.
