Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
ANTIDIABETES DRUGS
Why this applies to Albiglutide
Albiglutide falls under ANTIDIABETES DRUGS — the group Garden Cress interacts with.
Evidence from animal research suggests that an extract of garden cress can reduce blood glucose levels. This has not been shown in humans.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the gist: albiglutide (Tanzeum) is an injectable that already works to bring your blood sugar down. Garden cress, in animal studies, has shown a mild blood-sugar-lowering effect of its own. So the theory is that pairing the two could stack those effects and nudge your sugar a little too low (hypoglycemia).
I want to keep this in perspective, though. This concern comes from animal research only and hasn't been shown in people, so it's more of a 'good to know' than a red flag. Eating garden cress as food in normal cooking amounts is very unlikely to cause trouble. Concentrated seed supplements are where I'd be a bit more thoughtful. If you take them, watch for shakiness, sweating, or dizziness, check your sugars, and run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Albiglutide page
“People injecting albiglutide (Tanzeum) once a week for type 2 diabetes are often the same people eyeing supplements marketed for blood sugar, and that overlap is exactly where this list calls for real vigilance. Every one of the 239 ingredients on file touches glucose control in some way, most by adding to albiglutide's glucose-lowerin…”

About Garden Cress
What is Garden Cress?
- Digestive support
- Bone health
- Iron and vitamin source
- Cough and respiratory comfort
- Boosting breast milk (traditional)
- Constipation relief
Garden cress is a nutritious leafy herb and seed used widely in cooking and traditional medicine, providing vitamins, minerals, and fiber. While it has a long history of use for digestion, bone health, and lactation, strong human research supporting most medicinal claims is limited. It is generally safe as a food, but concentrated seed supplements should be used cautiously and avoided in pregnancy.
