The bottom line No known interaction

We found no known interaction between Garden Cress and Fenoprofen Calcium in our sources. Garden Cress and Fenoprofen Calcium

We checked these two against our interaction database. Here is what we found.

No Known Interaction Found

We did not find a documented interaction between Fenoprofen Calcium and Garden Cress in our sources. This does not guarantee that the combination is completely free of risk — there is often limited research on supplements and herbal products, especially around drug interactions.

If you decide to take both, the practical routine is simple: add one new thing at a time and note the date you started it. If the combination is going to disagree with you, it usually shows in the first days to a couple of weeks — and a start date turns “I’ve been feeling off” into something a pharmacist can actually work with. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.

Always talk with your pharmacist or doctor before making changes to your medications or supplements, particularly if you take several medications or have an ongoing health condition.

Garden Cress safety at a glance

Garden Cress overall Use caution Generally safe as a food, but concentrated seed amounts have limited safety data.
Pregnancy Avoid Seeds are traditionally believed to stimulate the uterus, so avoid medicinal amounts during pregnancy.
Breastfeeding Use caution Food amounts are likely fine, but safety of concentrated supplements is not well studied.

Safety guidance is general; always confirm with your pharmacist or doctor for your situation.

How we checked

Why No Interaction Is Listed for Fenoprofen Calcium

Interactions in our licensed database are recorded against drug classes, not just single drug names. Fenoprofen Calcium is filed under 5 classifications — including nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (nsaids), organic anion transporter 3 (oat3) substrates, organic anion transporter 1 (oat1) substrates. Garden Cress has documented interactions with 14 drug classes — the most serious being amlodipine (norvasc) (moderate), anticoagulant/antiplatelet drugs (moderate) and antidiabetes drugs (moderate) — and none of Fenoprofen Calcium’s classifications are among them.

Classification data comes from our licensed Natural Medicines dataset. A medication can belong to classes beyond those recorded there, so this describes how the check was run — it is not a safety guarantee.

What Fenoprofen Calcium’s Own FDA Label Lists

This is not an interaction — none of it involves Garden Cress. These are the most notable effects listed in the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of Fenoprofen Calcium’s own FDA label, for the medication by itself. Knowing the drug’s own list makes it easier to work out the likely cause if something new turns up while you take both. 10 of them are worth acting on rather than waiting out — marked below.

  • Bleeding in the gut Worth acting on
  • High potassium Worth acting on
  • Heart failure Worth acting on
  • Confusion Worth acting on
  • Kidney problems Worth acting on
  • Raised blood pressure Worth acting on
  • Shortness of breath Worth acting on

From the ADVERSE REACTIONS section of the FDA label for Fenoprofen Calcium. Read the label on DailyMed › Where a percentage is shown, it is the share of 49 voluntary FDA FAERS reports for Fenoprofen Calcium that mention that effect — a reporting proportion, not an incidence rate and not evidence the drug caused it. Garden Cress’s licensed record lists no adverse effects our clinical vocabulary could match, so there is no Garden Cress side to compare — that is a limit of the record, not a statement that Garden Cress has no side effects.

How to take them

Some Fenoprofen Calcium Products Have a Food Rule — Garden Cress Should Not Break It

At least one FDA label for a product containing Fenoprofen Calcium says to take it with food. If you take Garden Cress on an empty stomach out of habit, keep them separate — and take Fenoprofen Calcium with a meal where the label says to.

This may not be true of your version. Food instructions belong to the product, not the ingredient: two Fenoprofen Calcium products can carry different directions, and extended-release forms often differ from immediate-release ones. The label we read is quoted below — check the directions on your own box or bottle, or ask your pharmacist, for how to take the exact product you were given.

Fenoprofen Calcium may be administered with meals or with milk.

From the Dosage and Administration section of the FDA label we read for Fenoprofen Calcium — where that label names a specific product, the instruction is that product's. Read the label on DailyMed ›

A food rule is not an interaction — it is about how much of the medicine you absorb. The directions that came with your own product, and your pharmacist, outrank anything on this page.

“The kidneys and the stomach lining take the brunt of any NSAID, and fenoprofen calcium (Nalfon), prescribed for arthritis and other pain, is no exception. This list of 32 interacting supplements deserves real caution; five carry a major rating, and understanding those five comes first.”

About Garden Cress

What is Garden Cress?

Garden Cress
  • Digestive support
  • Bone health
  • Iron and vitamin source
  • Cough and respiratory comfort
  • Boosting breast milk (traditional)
  • Constipation relief

Garden cress is a nutritious leafy herb and seed used widely in cooking and traditional medicine, providing vitamins, minerals, and fiber. While it has a long history of use for digestion, bone health, and lactation, strong human research supporting most medicinal claims is limited. It is generally safe as a food, but concentrated seed supplements should be used cautiously and avoided in pregnancy.

Lepidium sativum · Brassicaceae · Seeds and leaves · Fresh leaves, seeds, seed powder, sprouts

An interaction check asks whether these two react with each other — it does not ask whether Garden Cress is a good idea for someone in your situation. Here is what our Garden Cress record says about it on its own.

Garden Cress: dosing

There is no official, standardized medicinal dose for garden cress. It is most often consumed as a food—fresh leaves, sprouts, or soaked seeds added to meals or drinks. If you use a seed powder or supplement, follow the directions on the product label and do not exceed the recommended amount.
