What Is Naftifine Topical Used For?

Brand name: Naftin

Naftifine topical is used to treat fungal infections of the skin caused by specific fungi called dermatophytes. Naftifine hydrochloride gel USP, 2% is indicated specifically for interdigital tinea pedis — that's athlete's foot between the toes — caused by Trichophyton rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, and Epidermophyton floccosum.

Naftifine hydrochloride cream has also been studied and used for tinea pedis, tinea cruris (jock itch), and tinea corporis (ringworm) in both adults and children as young as 2 years old.
