Here is the interaction we found between these two, with the evidence behind it.
CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INDUCERS
Why this applies to Belladonna, Phenobarbital
Belladonna, Phenobarbital falls under CYTOCHROME P450 3A4 (CYP3A4) INDUCERS — the group Golden Ragwort interacts with.
Golden ragwort contains PAs. PAs are substrates of CYP3A4. Theoretically, drugs that induce CYP3A4 might increase the conversion of PAs to toxic metabolites.
Interaction has been documented in animal or in lab research, or the interaction has been documented in humans but is limited to case reports or conflicting clinical research exists.
Here's the short version: I'd steer clear of Golden Ragwort altogether, with or without your medicine. This plant carries pyrrolizidine alkaloids, which the liver can turn into substances that harm liver cells. That's a real safety concern on its own.
The combo angle is this: the phenobarbital in your medicine is a known liver enzyme booster (it revs up CYP3A4). In theory, that faster enzyme activity could convert more of the plant's alkaloids into the toxic forms, possibly raising the chance of liver injury. I want to be honest, though, that this is theoretical, based on lab and animal work, not solid human studies. Still, since Golden Ragwort isn't safe to take internally regardless, please check with your pharmacist or doctor before using it.

From our pharmacist’s overview on the Belladonna, Phenobarbital page
“Alcohol is the interaction I would flag first for anyone taking Belladonna and Phenobarbital (Bellophen, Susano). It carries a major, well-documented risk of deepened sedation, and it has plenty of company: 78 of the 174 supplements and herbs on file add drowsiness to a barbiturate that sedates on its own, kava among the worst of them.”
