Your medicine here actually combines two drugs: chlorothiazide, a water pill (thiazide diuretic), and methyldopa, a blood pressure lowering medicine. The piece that matters with goldenrod is the chlorothiazide. Goldenrod has been used traditionally as a mild diuretic, and in lab and animal studies it does seem to nudge the body to flush out more fluid.

So the concern is simple: pairing goldenrod with your water pill could stack two fluid-flushing effects together. In theory, that might lead to more urination, lightheadedness, dehydration, or low potassium or sodium. I'll be honest with you, though, this is a theoretical worry based on weak evidence, not strong human studies. Still, it's worth mentioning to your pharmacist or doctor before adding a goldenrod supplement, especially since you're managing blood pressure.
