Here's the simple version: your Zestoretic already contains a water pill (hydrochlorothiazide), and goldenrod has a reputation as a gentle, natural diuretic too. So the worry is that taking both could nudge your body to lose a little extra fluid and salt on top of what your medicine is already doing. In real life that might show up as feeling more lightheaded or dizzy when you stand up, extra thirst, dry mouth, or running to the bathroom more. Because the lisinopril side also lowers blood pressure, you could feel that drop a bit more.

Honestly though, this concern comes from lab and animal studies, not solid human research, so it's a theoretical, mild interaction rather than a red alert. Still, since both push the same direction, check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding goldenrod.

What Is Lisinopril and Hydrochlorothiazide Used For?

Brand names: Zestoretic, Prinzide

Lisinopril and hydrochlorothiazide tablets — sold as the brand Zestoretic and as the generic combination — are used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of serious cardiovascular events such as stroke and heart attack.

This is a fixed-dose combination product and is not intended as a first-line (initial) treatment for high blood pressure. It is typically prescribed for patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled on a single medication alone.
