Daridorexant (Quviviq) is a prescription sleep aid that works by quieting the brain's wake signals, so it naturally makes you drowsy and relaxed. Gotu kola is thought to have a mild calming effect of its own, possibly by acting on GABA receptors in the brain. Put them together and you may simply feel more sedated than you expected.

In real life that could mean extra grogginess, lingering next-morning sleepiness, dizziness, or feeling unsteady on your feet. I'll be honest, this concern is theoretical and based mainly on lab research, not strong human studies, so it may not amount to much for everyone. Still, since both can pull in the same drowsy direction, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before combining them.
