Here's the situation with this combo. Actifed Allergy is a two-in-one product: diphenhydramine (the same drowsy-making antihistamine in Benadryl) plus pseudoephedrine (a decongestant that can actually be a little stimulating). Gotu kola has been shown, mostly in lab dishes, to nudge calming GABA pathways in the brain, so the concern is that it could add to the sleepy, foggy side of diphenhydramine.

In plain terms, pairing them might leave you feeling extra drowsy, groggy, or slow to react, which matters before driving or operating machinery. The good news: this is a theoretical caution based on early research, not strong human studies, so it's not a major alarm. Still, mention it to your pharmacist before combining them.
