Diroximel Fumarate falls under HEPATOTOXIC DRUGS — the group Gotu Kola interacts with.

Theoretically, taking gotu kola with hepatotoxic drugs might have additive adverse effects.
There are at least four case reports of hepatotoxicity associated with the use of gotu kola. However, more information is needed to determine if gotu kola was the causative factor in these cases.

Here's the simple version: both gotu kola and Vumerity (diroximel fumarate) can, in some people, put a little extra strain on the liver. This isn't about gotu kola changing how your MS medicine works. It's more that you'd be stacking two things that may each occasionally irritate the liver, so the worry is an additive burden.

I'll be honest with you, this is a theoretical concern. There are only a handful of case reports tying gotu kola to liver trouble, and we can't even say for sure it was the cause. Still, since Vumerity already calls for liver monitoring, it's worth a quick chat with your doctor or pharmacist before adding gotu kola. Watch for yellowing skin or eyes, dark urine, belly pain, or unusual tiredness.
