Flupenthixol is an antipsychotic that can already make some people feel drowsy, mellow, or slowed down. Gotu kola appears to have its own mild calming action, possibly by nudging the brain's GABA system (the same braking system many sedatives use). Stacking the two could, in theory, add up to more sleepiness, dizziness, or a foggy, sluggish feeling than the medication causes on its own.

I want to be honest about the strength of this: it comes from lab and test-tube work, not real patient cases, so it's a theoretical concern rather than a proven problem. Still, if you take flupenthixol and want to try gotu kola, it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor first, especially before driving until you know how the combination affects you.
