Theoretically, holy basil seed oil might increase the risk of bleeding when used with anticoagulant or antiplatelet drugs.
Animal research shows that holy basil seed oil can prolong bleeding time, possibly due to inhibition of platelet aggregation. However, it is not known if this occurs in humans.

Here's what's going on with Vicoprofen, which combines hydrocodone (an opioid pain reliever) with ibuprofen (an NSAID). The concern on file is about bleeding. Ibuprofen on its own can already make you bleed or bruise a little more easily and can irritate the stomach lining. Holy basil seed oil, in animal studies, seemed to slow down how platelets clump together, which could in theory add to that bleeding tendency.

But the honest truth is this is weak evidence, based only on animal research, and we don't know if it happens in people. Culinary amounts of tulsi are very unlikely to matter; concentrated supplements are the bigger question. If you take Vicoprofen regularly, just check with your pharmacist or doctor before adding holy basil, and watch for unusual bruising, stomach upset, or dark stools.
