Haloperidol falls under CYTOCHROME P450 1A2 (CYP1A2) SUBSTRATES — the group Horny Goat Weed interacts with.

Theoretically, horny goat weed might increase the effects and side effects of CYP1A2 substrates.
In vitro, horny goat weed leaf extract inhibits CYP1A2. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist: your body partly uses an enzyme called CYP1A2 to clear haloperidol (Haldol) out of your system. In test tube studies, horny goat weed seems to slow that enzyme down. If that same thing happened in people, haloperidol could build up a bit higher than usual and hit you harder.

With more haloperidol on board, you might notice stronger side effects like drowsiness, dizziness, muscle stiffness, restlessness, or unusual movements. I want to be honest, though, this is only a laboratory finding so far and has not been shown in real people, so the actual risk is uncertain. Haloperidol is a medication you don't want to throw off, so please don't start or stop anything. Just run it by your pharmacist or doctor first.

Theoretically, horny goat weed might increase the effects and side effects of CYP3A4 substrates.
In vitro, horny goat weed extract inhibits CYP3A4 and suppresses CYP3A4 mRNA expression. This effect has not been reported in humans.

Here's the gist for Haldol (haloperidol). Your liver uses an enzyme called CYP3A4 (along with a couple others) to help clear this medicine out of your body. In lab dish studies, horny goat weed seemed to slow that same enzyme down. If that were to happen in people, less haloperidol would get broken down, so more could linger in your system. That could mean stronger effects and more side effects, things like drowsiness, stiffness, restlessness, tremor, or in rare cases changes in your heart rhythm.

The important part: this was only seen in the lab, never confirmed in actual humans, so it's theoretical right now. Still, haloperidol is a drug where extra effect can matter, so I'd run it past your pharmacist or doctor before combining the two.

Haloperidol is used to manage symptoms of psychotic disorders and to control the tics and vocal outbursts of Tourette's disorder in both children and adults.

In children, it is also used for severe combative or explosive behavior problems, and for hyperactivity with conduct disorders — but only when other treatments like therapy or non-antipsychotic medications have not worked.
