These two interact in 4 distinct ways. Each one is explained separately below.
Why Are There 4 Interactions?
Humann Superbeets Heart Chews interacts with whole categories of medication. Benzhydrocodone, Acetaminophen falls into 4 of those categories, so it can interact with Humann Superbeets Heart Chews in 4 different ways. We’ve listed each one below — your overall risk is driven by the most serious of them (Minor).
Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates
1 of 4Why this applies to Benzhydrocodone, Acetaminophen
Benzhydrocodone, Acetaminophen falls under Cytochrome P450 2D6 (Cyp2D6) Substrates — the group Humann Superbeets Heart Chews interacts with.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's something interesting about Apadaz: the benzhydrocodone part is actually a prodrug. Your body has to convert it into hydrocodone, and the CYP2D6 enzyme then turns hydrocodone into its more active pain-relieving form. The grape seed extract in SuperBeets Heart Chews may gently slow CYP2D6, at least in lab studies. So in theory, you might get a little less pain relief from this medicine, rather than too much.
That said, this is very weak, theory-only evidence, and there are no real human reports of it happening. I wouldn't lose sleep over it. If you ever feel your pain isn't being controlled the way it should be, mention these chews to your pharmacist or doctor so they can take a look.
Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates
2 of 4Benzhydrocodone, Acetaminophen also falls under Cytochrome P450 3A4 (Cyp3A4) Substrates.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the gist for Apadaz (benzhydrocodone with acetaminophen): the grape seed extract in these chews may gently slow down CYP3A4, one of the liver enzymes that helps process the opioid part of this medicine. If that enzyme works a bit slower, you could in theory end up with slightly higher opioid levels in your system. With an opioid, that might mean more pronounced drowsiness, dizziness, constipation, or slowed breathing.
That said, I don't want to alarm you. This is rated a minor, unlikely interaction based only on lab studies, with no real reports in people. Still, opioids deserve respect, so it's worth a quick chat with your pharmacist or doctor before pairing them, especially when you're first starting the medication.
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates
3 of 4Benzhydrocodone, Acetaminophen also falls under Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the connection with Apadaz (benzhydrocodone with acetaminophen). The acetaminophen part is partly handled by a liver enzyme called CYP2E1. In lab studies only, the grape seed extract in these beet chews appears to slow that enzyme down a little. In theory, slower breakdown could let some byproducts shift around, but this has never actually been seen happen in real people, and the effect is rated minor and unlikely.
Practically speaking, taking these chews now and then is very unlikely to cause a problem with your pain medicine. The bigger thing to watch with any acetaminophen product is simply not going over the daily limit and avoiding extra alcohol. If you use Apadaz regularly, just run the supplement by your pharmacist or doctor first.
Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates
4 of 4Benzhydrocodone, Acetaminophen also falls under Cytochrome P450 2E1 (Cyp2E1) Substrates.
Interaction has been demonstrated in animal or in lab research but has been shown not to occur in humans..
Here's the gist with Apadaz (benzhydrocodone with acetaminophen). The grape seed extract in these chews may, at least in lab testing, gently slow down an enzyme called CYP2E1. That enzyme is one of the pathways your liver uses to handle the acetaminophen portion of this medicine. In theory, slower clearance could nudge levels a little higher.
Honestly though, this is a very low concern. The evidence is weak (lab studies only), there are no real human reports, and it's rated minor and unlikely. If anything, watch for the usual opioid effects like drowsiness, constipation, or nausea, but I wouldn't expect trouble at normal doses. Since this combo contains acetaminophen, just be mindful of your total daily acetaminophen. When in doubt, check with your pharmacist or doctor.
